Industrial-Painting Inspector

The certification of Industrial-Painting Inspectors is granted by the National System of Qualification and Certification in Corrosion and Protection (SNQC-CP, Sistema Nacional de Qualificação e Certificação em Corrosão e Proteção) according to the ABNT NBR 15218 standard. The activities performed by professionals, the education background and other information related to the qualification and certification of Industrial-Painting Inspectors are described in the ABNT NBR 15218 standard.

How to acquire certification

The SNQC-CP certification process is described in the following paragraphs.

1) Submission of documents

To apply for the SNQC-CP qualification examinations, the candidate should send the following documents by email (snqc@abraco.org.br) for analysis:

a) the Form for Requesting Qualification, Recertification and Reexamination, duly completed and signed;

b) the Conduct and Ethics code completed and signed;

c) the Medical certificate of visual acuity, duly completed, according to the format defined by the System and valid for 6 months;

d) the Term of Responsibility completed and signed;

e) the copy of the identification document with photo (ID, work card, national driver’s license or passport);

f) the copy of the Individual Taxpayer’s Registry (CPF). If the candidate’s CPF number appears on his/her identification document, a copy of the CPF will not be required;

g) the copy of the training certificate, according to the specific qualification standard;

h) the copy of proof of educational background (diploma, course completion certificate or Class Council card). Declarations are not accepted;

i) a recent 3×4 photo (scanned);

j) the copy of documents proving the minimum professional experience required in the specific qualification standard (for IPI N2 qualifying exam applicant only).

 

Proof of professional experience

Note: to request the IPI N1 qualifying exam, it is not necessary to send documents proving professional experience.

a) Employee: the copy of the work card proving employment relationship and statement on company letterhead with legalization stamp, specifying the activities carried out in the company (send certified copies of the identification pages with photo, civil qualification, employment contracts and pages of change of function, if any, plus declaration of activities, in accordance with the SNQC-CP Professional Experience Declaration Model).

b) Autonomous: the copy of the work contract or RPA  with proven payment of the INSS tax and the statement on company letterhead with legalization stamp (contract + declaration of activities, according to the SNQC-CP Professional Experience Declaration Model).

c) Self employee: the copy of the company’s governmental contract and statement on company letterhead with a legalization stamp (governmental contract of incorporation + declaration of activities, in accordance with the SNQC-CP Professional Experience Declaration Template).

 

Guidelines for sending documents

The required documents should be sent to the e-mail snqc@abraco.org.br, paying attention to the following guidelines:

– one file per document type (example: qualifying examination application form file, code of conduct and ethics file, visual acuity certificate file, an identification document file, proof of educational background file, work card file plus declaration file, among others);

– documents should be complete, legible and in pdf format (except 3×4 photo that can be sent in image format – jpg).

Note: we emphasize that the delivery of document files for the Certification Sector should be done by e-mail snqc@abraco.org.br.

Monitoring of documentation analysis

The candidate will be able to follow the receipt, deadlines and status of the analysis of their documents through the “Document Review” on ABRACO’s website page.

2) Payment

After submitting and approving the documents, the Certification Bureau will send the candidate a bank slip for payment of the qualifying examination. See Prices and Fees on ABRACO’s website page for the amounts charged for qualifying examinations. The bank slip will be sent to the candidate’s restricted area, where the candidate will have access through his login (CPF) and password.

3) Scheduling the Qualifying Examination

After payment of the bank slip by the candidate, the Certification Bureau will schedule in the requested Qualification-Exam Center (CEQ, Centro de Exame de Qualificação) the date for the qualification examination. The examination will be scheduled according to the availability of the chosen CEQ and the number of candidates registered for the CEQ. The Certification Bureau will send the candidate written notice of the scheduled date for the examination.

4) Conducting theoretical and practical examinations

The candidate should take the theoretical and practical qualification examinations defined in the specific qualification standard and ABRACO-001 standard (available on the “Documents for download” of ABRACO’s website page).

Note:

a) the qualification examinations are administered by the CEQ recognized by the SNQC-CP;

b) before taking examinations, it is recommended that the candidate carefully read the documents instructing candidates for the qualification examination of their occupation;

c) the professional who fails the qualification examination may request up to two re-examinations, according to the ABRACO 001 standard, and should pay the related re-examination fee. The deadline for completing the process is 12 months from the date of the first examination.

5) Certificate issue

In the case of approval of the qualification exams, the Certification Bureau will issue the professionals’ certificate to formalize the obtained the certification.
